These Emergency Drinking Water Pouches are military grade, and are manufactured by AmeriQual in Evansville, IN to the same quality standards that apply to MRE production.  The pouches are the thick, foil style that a typical MRE side dish would be packaged in.  Each pouch is 3 1/2" x 7 1/4" and about 3/8" thick when laying flat.  Each weighs about 5.6 Ounces.
I conducted some experiments with these pouches.  I put them in the freezer for days, then thawed them out - NO damage whatsoever.  Also, just like an MRE pouch....they can be added to boiling water as well.  Extremely durable and out-performs the other commercial water pouches that are out there.
Not just for drinking...I like to match the correct amount of water to a freeze dried meal pouch and seal them together to guarantee a meal in an emergency.  Most LRP style freeze dried rations would require 2-4 of these pouches to reconstitute and cook.  When in the field, I'll get some lake, stream, pond....whatever water is available and get it onto the fire for processing/treatment.  I'll then drop a few water pouches in the pot and get them piping hot as my water treatment boils.  I'll then use the water pouches for my meal - and maybe a cup of coffee....as my boil treated water cools down for the next day's canteen.  These also have First Aid uses as well....cut a little corner off the pouch and squeeze to use as a wound irrigation tool.
