    Description

Two official state highway maps for the great state of Maryland, the Mid-Atlantic state known as the home of Baltimore (as well as much of suburban Washington DC) and the Chesapeake Bay. Includes a map from 1960 (when J. Millard Tawes, an old-fashioned Maryland Democrat from an old Eastern Shore family, was governor), and another from 1967 (when Spiro T. Agnew, Nixon’s disgraced Vice President who went to prison for bribery, was governor). Features a road map of the small (9,800 square miles), crowded (6.2 million people) Free State, with what is easily the coolest flag in the country, on one side, along with more detailed maps of the major urban areas (including Baltimore, the Washington area and Annapolis) on one side, and a guide to Maryland’s many attractions (bays & beaches, hills & mountains and so many historical sites) on the other side.
